Just riding a motorcycle doesn't make you into a motorcyclist ! There is so much more to it......

We first opened for business in 1999, and have been serving Newton Aycliffe, and the rest of County Durham ever since. This makes us one of the longest established training schools in the area.

We offer a full range of services, ranging from Pre CBT starter training ,for those of you that have never ridden a motorcycle or scooter before. This will teach you how to ride the bike and develop your machine control (conducted as a one to one session) in a safe and controlled environment. This is a massive confidence builder and gives you the headspace to engage with the CBT training at a deeper level as all of your focus is no longer on the machine control. This allows you to focus on and develop your peripheral skills, such as using your vision effectively and developing your visual skills, correctly reading and assessing the road ahead and developing a motorcyclists "mindset"- seeing the world through a motorcyclists eyes. These are all essential skills.

Pre-CBT for my son who has never ridden a motorbike before. Couldn't believe how much he picked up in a hour which is all down to Trev's knowledge and teaching methods. Can't recommend high enough. Learn to ride here, you won't be disappointed 

The CBT itself starts with a session on UK legalities and how to choose the correct riding equipment. We recommend that you spend some time reading the Highway code prior to CBT as there will be a discussion about this topic. We then move onto learning to ride the bike or scooter in an enclosed area well away from traffic. Once we have satisfactorily covered all the elements of this- clutch control, braking, slow riding etc. we will have a break for lunch and an in depth chat about the realities of riding out on the road. We conclude CBT with 2 hours of closely observed, on road training which assesses your general riding, observation skills, awareness and how you deal with varying traffic conditions.

Firstly, I had no motorcycle experience so I decided to do a pre CBT. I’m so glad I did , Trevor made me feel like his no.1 customer. He pulled out of me confidence I didn’t know I had and within 10 minutes I was riding .

I then moved on to my actual CBT and again Trevor’s outstanding delivery of the course left me feeling not only like I was the only person there but also it left me with a memorable day that I’ll never forget. He worked really hard with the whole group I was with. Most importantly, he gave us all life saving tips from his huge wealth of experience, leaving me hearing his guidance in my head at every turn and approach on the roads. I will continue my service with Trevor’s company for years to come.

After completion of the CBT you can then progress to lessons and passing your test if you wish to do so. This is either on a 125cc, 400cc or a 600 cc machine. You will have full support throughout including how to approach, prepare for and take the theory test and hazard perception test which are compulsory parts of gaining a full licence.

After passing your test, a specialty of ours is cornering skills training. This is available to all skill levels as it is tailored to suit the candidate. A short assessment ride is then followed with detailed tuition to improve your skills, confidence and abilities. We film these sessions with your consent then you can see where you were at the beginning and also the improvements made at the end.

I booked a lesson with Trevor today. After having my bike license for years, it was a bit embarrassing telling him I can't corner. However, I immediately felt comfortable talking to Trevor and he soon corrected all my mistakes. I now have a whole new technique to cornering and I can't wait to practice. I feel so much more confident and cannot recommend Trevor enough. thank you so much. Everybody can always learn new things no matter how long they've been riding!

A recent refresher training review;

I passed my test with Trevor approximately 13 years ago. For lots of reasons I haven't ridden for a lot of years. I decided I would get myself a bike but contacted Trevor for some refresher lessons to help build my confidence. I cannot express how much this was the best decision I made. Straight away I felt completely at ease and remembered my love for bikes. Trevor is amazing, his knowledge and patience is brilliant and I would not go anywhere else. 

All our instructors are fully DVSA trained and approved to ensure we maintain the highest possible standards. We are justifiably proud of the high standard of our tuition, read our reviews on Google to get a feel for this.

Got to say Trevor was an amazing trainer explained so much in detail and in a way it was easy to understand .He was open to questions and had the answers again perfectly explained. I got through my cbt with ease and felt relaxed in the environment to where the training began. We had a break and hit the road again. Very comfortable, everything was explained along the way through 2 way radios which made this a satisfying and brilliant experience and less like an examination or test Thankyou Trevor I will be seeing you for the full licence training cheers mate all the best

Trevor, our Chief Instructor, summed it up nicely when he said that he wants everyone to enjoy motorcycling as much as he does, and he is a self confessed motorcycle fanatic. He insists on training everyone at TT Motorcycle Training to a high standard in all of the essential skills required to ride the bike of their choice well, and therefore safely.

Can't recommend TT motorcycle training enough, absolutely fantastic from start to finish! Completed my CBT with Trev, 100% recommend to those who may not be confident about biking. Very friendly, good clear guidance and many drills to build your confidence before hitting the road. After completing my CBT yesterday, never been on a bike before! I felt that confident I taxed insured the bike I had previously bought and ended up doing 130 odd mile ride out with the lads today! Many thanks to Trev.
